Another eagerly-awaited summer's been and gone , at least in terms of the seasons. This ones been slightly different for me, it being my first as manager of Flicks Bar . For those of you who haven't been to visit us within the last six months or so it will be of interest that we have made some changes to the look of Flicks, trying to give it a revised and, hopefully, improved look as it approaches it's tenth anniversary. Those of you who HAVE been to see us recently will hopefully agree that the changes have been purely aesthetic, meaning that the bar has retained it's character and soul i.e. it's still a great place to have a laugh , a dance and a sing-song and work on tomorrow's hangover!

The FliX-Factor has been a great success. It has dished up its fair share of talented singers , those with more guts than talent, and those to whom the word tallented cannot be applies- exactly what it was designed to do- it is Karaoke after all!

Lianne's antics as Shot-Girl have also been memorable, as have Dave's comedy sideboards and Lance Armstrong cycling shoes.....check out the Flicks Pics, for as much as I could attempt to describe these images it remains true that a picture speaks a thousand words!!!!

Most importantly, of course, is to remember that whatever we do and however great the bar may look, nothing is going to work without the people who come into the bar. Once again we've met so many friendly faces- your stories and antics often keep us entertained- and we're constantly reminded of what a small place the world is.
